David Pastrák, a professional right-winger with the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League, was born in the Czech Republic on May 25, 1996. Known as “Pasta,” Pastrák made his NHL debut in 2014 after being selected by the Bruins in the first round, 25th overall, of the NHL Entry Draft. Pastrák has represented the Czech Republic internationally for both the junior and senior teams, including in four World Championships.

The father of Pastrák, Milan, encouraged him to pursue ice hockey. Pastrák sees this as the reason why he started exercising and training so hard, hoping to become a hockey player for his father, Milan, who passed away in 2013 after a protracted fight with cancer.
Pastrák was the league’s top scorer (41) and scorer overall in the Czech under-18 league during the 2011–12 season (68). On July 15, 2014, Pastrák agreed to a three-year, entry-level contract after the Boston Bruins selected him as the number 25 overall choice in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
